FAQ

Why should I join the PTO?

Membership in the PTO helps to support Buckalew and its students. Membership fees go directly to the PTO budget to support the school and therefore, our students’ educational experience. Purchasing a membership before the fall deadline gets you a copy of the printed student directory (exclusively for PTO members) and PTO voting privileges.

How do I join the PTO?

Memberships are available for purchase on the Buckalew Spirit Store.

Are there any requirements for PTO members?

Purchasing a PTO membership does not come with any obligations.  We encourage attendance at meetings for all parents and would love to have you join us at volunteer opportunities, but it is not required.

How can I sign up to volunteer?

Please check out our Volunteer Page for more information about volunteer opportunities.

What does the PTO do?

The PTO fundraises and coordinates with our parent volunteers to support the students, school, and teachers. Please see Our Impact for more details.

What can I expect when I go to a PTO meeting?

During the school year, we meet once a month at 11:30 AM in the Buckalew Library. Meetings are usually on the 1st Friday of the month. Meeting agendas typically include an update from our Principal, Mrs. Price, the PTO’s monthly financial report, and updates from our PTO committees. Attendance is a great way to stay in the know about events going on at the school.

What events and activities will I be hearing about from the PTO this year?

Events change from year to year. However, a timeline of typical events and current year information can be found on our Calendar.
